No registration means no BSN, no bank account, no huurtoeslag. We read every listing for it, cross-check the gemeente's room-permit register, and put the question in your first message when it's unclear.
Bike minutes to Leiden University city centre, Bio Science Park / Gorlaeus, LUMC, Leiden Centraal, on every listing, from the official address register. Plus the neighbourhood, so "Leiden" stops meaning nothing.
"No internationals", "Dutch only", "3x income", "female only", "minimum 12 months". We flag them before you write, and write your first message in the landlord's language when you're eligible.
Casa Setup
Registration, BSN, bank, SIM, insurance, bike, in the order that works for your passport and your arrival month. A plan you can tick off, and a person on WhatsApp. From €99, one time.
Rooms €500 to €750, studios €850 to €1,200. All-in prices; ask about utilities if the ad says "exclusief". Casa flags prices that are far below normal, because that's usually a scam.
Yes. Every listing, the eligibility check, the registration and scam flags, the first message and alerts by email: free, forever.
Every listing site, agency page and private ad for Leiden, plus rooms students post here when they leave. Agency lead-gen ads that aren't a specific place are filtered out, duplicates merged. You apply through Casa.
Most Dutch cities require a permit to split a house into rooms. The gemeente publishes every application and decision in the Gemeenteblad. Casa matches Leiden listings against that register. A granted permit on the address means the house is a legally converted student house, which is the strongest sign registration will be fine.
Dutch law bans charging tenants for finding them a home when the agent also works for the landlord. Casa never works for landlords: we never contact them, never arrange viewings, never touch a contract, never take their money. We're a bulletin board with a very good filter.
